The M 1000 XR is a radical machine, that much is clear from the data sheet. However, it should not be reduced to its engine and massive power, because the braking performance, handling, electronics and finely tuned chassis are actually just as impressive. If you want to use the M 1000 XR on the public highway, you will probably never be able to call up its full power, can probably turn your driving licence into a tear-off booklet and still won't be able to stop grinning under your helmet. Exclamations of bewilderment are just as much a part of the M 1000 XR as the screeching four-cylinder and effortless, highly banked cornering. And as befits a "touring" bike, this sporty fun can also be enjoyed over long distances with minimal suffering.
